Product guidance

APG 0814CM exhibits an improved low temperature behavior. Due to the content of lower alkyl chain glucosides, APG 0814CM can be stored and processed at lower temperature levels (>5°C).

APG0814CM can be easily formulated because it does not exhibit a gel phase upon dilution. By reducing the pH value, e.g., with citric acid to below 8.5 the cloudiness being specific for the product disappears thus also enabling the formulation of clear products.

Aqueous solutions of  APG0814CM cannot be thickened by addition of NaCl. In combination with anionic surfactants the viscosity can be improved by electrolyte addition.

APG 0814CM provides excellent dishwashing performance especially in combination with anionic and amphoteric surfactants. This product is, therefore, well suited for the manufacture of manual dishwashing agents. In manual dishwashing formulations APG 0814CM exhibits an equivalent performance to  APG 1214 coupled with the benefit of improved low temperature behavior.

Additionally APG H0814CM provides good detergent performance when used for surfactant systems in a wide variety of household and institutional cleaning products, e.g., hard surface cleaners and liquid laundry detergents.

APG  0814CM exhibits excellent skin compatibility (not classified "irritating to skin"). By substituting a portion of generally more irritating anionic surfactants with APG 0814CM, a formulation with improved mildness and excellent cleaning performance will be obtained.  APG 0814CM contains no preservatives. Below pH 11.5APG 0814CM is no longer sufficiently protected against microbial contamination, which means the end formulation has to be preserved in a suitable way.

APG  0814CM is well suited for the manufacture of manual dishwashing agents and a wide variety of household and institutional cleaning products. APG 0814CM exhibits a very low dermal irritation and is classified as "nonirritating to skin" (no R38-phrase) and it’s especially suitable for concentrated formulations.

Storage and transportation

APG 0814CM can be stored in sealed original containers protected from frost and below 43 °C for at least 2 years.

Maximum Storage Temperature - recommended maximum storage temperature of  APG  0814CM is 43°C. When heating, avoid prolonged localized temperatures exceeding 43°C to avoid possible product discoloration. Use tempered water when possible. Low pressure steam is acceptable if the product is monitored regularly.

Bulk storage material – Carbon steel should not be used to store or handle [5] APG  0814CM due to probable contamination by iron. Recommended plastic drum or IBC made of high density polyethylene (HDPE) are both acceptable.
